It’s time to move on from PC’s, laptop’s, palmtop’s, mobiles to 21st century new Innovation Gadget called TABLETS (PC’s), which comes with all the applications what computers have and has become greatest threat to computer and Smartphone sales in industry. In fact this Gadget is more advanced version and includes all the upgrade version of software’s and it comes in all the sizes from 5 inches to 30. This Gadget has attracted many younger generation since it works with exceptional software such as Android and Windows which contains tons and tons of application other unique feature is it is portable easily which is much needed for this busy world.
A million Pound question now is-will the PC’s and Laptops be in market or not. A small survey was conducted by Accenture with 8000 respondents in 2011 January, including Brazil, China, India, Russia, France, Germany, Japan and the United States of America in order to explore more information and clarity about TABLET pc’s, demand in the market and buyers behaviour towards Electronic Gadgets which is very interesting. According to the survey 17 % of respondent have planned to buy PC’s, but this is 36 % less when compared to 2010. This tells us in brief that buyer has started moving towards other substitutes in the market. In addition to that respondents are using more than one Gadget such as ipad, Mobile phones, Smart phones and Tablet PC’s .
In western countries Apple and Samsung have dominated the market and they hold majority of share in market and they have introduced more Range of Tablet PC’s with much advanced technology. In terms of sales of PC market have still an opportunity, but when we see the same in proactive view point growth for particular product will decline, due to high influence of advanced technology and day to day change in buyers taste and preference will drive TABLET PC’s even more market share.
Most of the global PC makers are now producing Tablet PC's but Apple's iPad does not call itself as a Tablet PC.iPad is considered to be an alternative for a Tablet PC and this is what we need to think about...!!!

ReplyDeleteI saw this advert over the weekend not had chance to play with it yet so not sure how they differ from the ipad as Archana posted - although Apple are very good at creating brand protection and uniquesness even if they have competitive products. In response to your posed question, I think PC's will just get smaller and lighter with more design emphasis for those who do not want 'on the go' technology

ReplyDeleteI dont think, tablets are threat to smartphones. Smartphones have their own market and one cannot expect an 7 inch or 11 inch gadget to be carried in pockets. But they are threat to laptops. Storage capacity is also an concern in tablets.
ReplyDeleteThank you varun, but With technology getting upgraded and advanced everyday,we can expect tablet PC's to come in much more smaller sizes and increased memory capacity. Tablets and Smartphones can be considered to be a substitute to one another.Got to wait and see which gadget will be replaced as a substitute to other.
ReplyDeleteGood article Ram, now 5inch tablet is available in market. I am using DELL streak and its very compatible and portability is also not an issue. surely Tablets are threats to Laptop.
